History
In September 2001, Concorde Hotels & Resorts was officially renamed as HPL Hotels & Resorts. The Singapore-based hospitality management company is wholly owned by Singapore public-listed company, Hotel Properties Limited (HPL). HPL is widely recognized for its association with some of the most prominent brands in the world.
With just two hotels back in 1991, HPL Hotels & Resorts currently has 12 properties in Asia-Pacific and the Indian Ocean, with a total of 2,979 rooms. It operates from Singapore and manages the activities of its hotels and resorts, which includes Concorde Hotel Singapore, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Concorde Hotel Shah Alam, Concorde Inn Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, Casa del Mar - Langkawi, The Lakehouse - Cameron Highlands, Rihiveli Beach Resort - Maldives and Gili Lankanfushi - Maldives.
Under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ong Beng Seng, Managing Director of HPL, the group has diversified into several industries. In Hospitality, HPL owns HPL Hotels & Resorts as well as Hard Rock Hotels & Resorts. Other hotels included in the HPL portfolio are managed by Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Hilton International and Le Meridien.
In Food & Beverage, HPL Group's interests in many cities in Asia include Hard Rock Café and Haagen Dazs. In the Retail and Leisure Industry, there's the Donna Karan/DKNY label, while in Property Development, the group is involved in building residential properties in London and Singapore.
